State Shipping Laws: Kansas

Summary

On 7/1/09 wineries with a Special Order Wine Shipping License may ship up to 12 cases of wine purchased OFF-SITE to a Kansas consumer or address. Shippers are required to use an approved age verification service for off-site sales. Wine Shipping Licensees are responsible for paying gallonage and enforcement taxes and filing an annual report. A license is not needed for ON-SITE shipments. Wineries may legally ship wine an unlimited amount of wine that is purchased ON-SITE to consumers in Kansas. There are no permit, tax or reporting requirements for on-site shipments. On-Site shipments should not be included in the reports for off-site shipments.

Customer Aggregate Volume Limit

There is a limit on volume of total shipments from a winery to each consumer over a specified period of time.
