Limited Direct Shipping. As of July 1, 2003, holders of wine shipper's licenses issued pursuant to this section may sell and ship not more than two cases of wine per month to any person in Virginia to whom alcoholic beverages may be lawfully sold. (¶7122)(C.V.§4.1-112.1). The Virginia ABC Board is authorized to issue a shipper's license to persons licensed in their state of domicile as a winery, farm winery or brewery. A non-refundable application fee of $65.00 and license fee of $95.00 is required to be submitted with the application for a license. Effective July 1, 2004, criminal background checks are no longer required for a Virginia Shipper's permit. All shipments shall be made only by common carriers approved by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. All shippers' licensees shall keep complete accurate and separate records of wine and/or beer products sold and shipped to persons in the Commonwealth. Licensees shall remit on a monthly basis to the Board an accurate account of shipments to Virginia.
Customer Aggregate Volume Limit
There is a limit on volume of total shipments from a winery to each consumer over a specified period of time.
This region has a limit of 2 cases per individualper month for combined onsite and offsite sales with the following exception: A case may not exceed 9 liters..
